Nothing will cause the end of human race. Until every single living being reaches the stage of human beings and finally gain enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha)... the end of the human species can never occur! Yes, in 2012 the world shall witness 20% population of the world wiped out in the first and final nuclear war of the era!
Around 2012, followers of both Christianity and Islamic Dharma would involve in a fight to the finish... that shall sound death knell for about 1200 million people. The precipitation of world war three is inevitable. The society has long suffered the erosion of moral and ethical values! The time is right for Dharma to root out adharma forever.
In the cosmic system it is our soul atman that plays the governing role. It manifests a cycle of 8.4 million manifestations to cleanse out the impurities within. Initially our soul atman manifests the form of one amoeba (single cell formation). It finally evolves into multi-cell formation, then insect life, plant life, animal life and finally the form of a human being.
Does it mean until every insect, plant or an animal survives on Mother Earth... the human species cannot end... yes, the truth is so! In the cosmic crux of life... every single form of life has to reach the stage of human beings before gaining enlightenment and salvation. Such a phase of life is not expected before millions... rather billions of years!
We are presently passing through the Kali Yuga phase of life (the Dark Age)! Time has ripened for a new world order! The society cannot sustain further in the present circumstances. Life has to go on. In the circumstances an Avatar of the era (God manifesting human form)... the said Bhagwan Kalki is awaited with abated breath!
Bhagwan Kalki... the annihilator of Kali Yuga would be one without a precedent! Lord Krishna who came about 3600 years before was an Avatar of his era. Now people await the coming of Bhagwan Kalki! Beyond 2014 mankind would witness the start of golden era... a phase when a pot of gold lying in the backyard would not have a claimant! I used to believe it was technology and the keen possibility of an Atomic Worldwide Holocaust but these days I'm beginning to wonder about that and change my mind. The appalling way the Planet is being treated and the devastation that Corporations seems to wreak havoc on the Ecology, all over the world might be our downfall. And it's hard to stop a Corporation. Even harder when they do their nefarious deeds in Third World Counties or in secret in our own. Try challenging them and they march out an army of Wall Street Lawyers and steam-roller you down to the ground.

Read your Bible especially revelations it explains things in great detail. Yes... about Armageddon, don't be afraid though unless you are atheist. The end will come when God sends his army and wipes out evil and leaves righteous humble ones to inherit the earth. It will be a swift just judgment against evil doers namely worldwide governments. Hope you are not a politician and your not a voter. When only God knows not even his only begotten son Jesus does not know when. God whose name is Jehovah mean causes to become is fair and will disperse exactly at the right time.

Biotechnology, within two generations. Once it is easy to design and create microscopic organisms in your kitchen, all hell will break loose. We humans never invent anything without abusing it, and this one will just get out of our control through a mix of accidents and evil intent. It is our downfall that we are far more clever than sane.

Hi,
The universe, which is expanding, will eventually out reach the gravitational pull of the sun.
Planets, stars etc will start flying off into outer space and eventually only the sun will be left.
We may still survive on this earth but it will not be in this universe or under this sun.

A few will survive a nuclear war, millions will survive effects of global warming, thousands will eek out an existance after a super volcano erupts, but the planet killing asteroid will be an 'extinction level' calamity.

By the way satan does not take over. God allows him to think he is in control. Then God judges the coward and the devil is thrown into the LAKE OF FIRE........forever.

The earth shall implode from hollowness in about 20 minutes. After that a meteor shall come down and fill in the innzy. Volcanos are a kind of outsy, but the suction shall cause an innie. :-)
