I haven't had my period since late May. However, I have lost 9 pounds since then. Is my delayed period due to my dramatic weight loss? I just started my cycle in February. Could I have some disease?! Could I have had my period one day and not notice it? I reallllly need re-assurance here! ]:

I've recently had a sticky discharge in my underwear. Do you think my period is coming soon?

If you just started in february, don't worry about it. It won't be regular for a couple years.

Well, 9 pounds is not a drastic weight loss, but, if you are aleady underweight, then perhaps it is. A period can stop if your anorexic, or have some kind of eating disorder, if this is the case, you need help. Maybe this is why you think 9 pounds is alot of weight, because your aleady underweight. It may not be, im just guessing! Hope this helps, goodluck! Maybe go see a doctor to be sure sweetheart :)

9 pounds is hardly drastic weight loss unless you were terribly underweight to begin with. you say you just started your cycle in february. do you mean that feb was your very first period? if so, relax. its not unusual for young girls just starting to cycle to be very irregular for several months. you are not likely to have had an invisible 1day period, and a sticky discharge is not unusual either. just give yourself time to know your body, which will take time since you are going thru some major changes now. if it would make you feel better, and you dont want anyone to know,go to a planned parenhood clinic and talk to someone there. they are very experienced in such things and would be glad to help you.

Hey!
Okay, calm down first, honey. It's scary, but when your mind starts wander you'll get even more scared, so just focus. Right, i looked it up, and it sounds to me you have nothing to worry about. Since our bodies aren't like machinery, they don't work like a clock, and it's nothing to worry about if they don't come one month. Periods take a while to settle. It could also be changing if you changed your eating habits or routine. However, if this keeps up and you get really worried, see your doctor. But it sounds to me like you're fine. Sometimes we just miss a couple of months-happened to me. If the discharge is white and stringy, your period should be on the way.
Good luck, hope you're a little less scared!

Yes, weight loss as well as unhealthy eating habits and not taking care of yourself are causes to sporadic periods. But if you just started your period in February, it is going to take some time to become regular, and for some, it may never become completely regular. If you are having any pain, are sexually active, or practice unhealthy eating habits, I would see a doctor. Don't be scared, just please be safe.

If you just started menstruating, it is very common to have very irregular cycles for a year or two.
I am assuming you haven't been having sex....if you have you better get a pregnancy test at the drugstore.
If you are skinny, or losing weight or exercising a lot, you can really stop your cycles completely. If that is the case, are you anorexic??? If you are, you better get some help.
Hope that helps.

When you first start getting your period, it could take a while before it comes in every month. Also the disharge could have been it. See site below to see that it does not always have to be bleeding. Most women do not know about it.

If you just started for the first time in februrary then ur periods probably just haven't gotten regular yet. I wouldn't worry about it. As for the weightloss, maybe if it was really fast or if you were exercising a whole lot more than usual

when a girl starts her period in most cases she will not be regular after the 1st one. my daughter didn't have her second one for 3 months after her first. it took almost 2 years before she was regular.

Umm. You'd notice if you had your period. lol.
When you change your routines... so if you've been losing weight... your period might change it's routine too.
I use to start the 15th.. now I start the 29thishhh.
But for it not to happen for a couple months is kind of weird.
But then again your not a regular..yet.
