The root of any persons contempt for another is through three of the most useless words in our vocabulary: Discrimination, Stereotypes, and of course... racism.

Whites and Blacks especially are known for this,

as a white racist: they assume that they are Superior to blacks even today...claiming that they "take care" of us and such, the racism only became worst once white racists began to take what they see on television against African Americans, assuming that we are all gang banging hoodlums with no future at hand. they cannot and will not except the fact that as Humans...we are all equal.

as a Black racist: they assume all whites are racist...basically, but they also have a superiority complex similar towards whites. assuming that all whites are weak and incompetent. we also have taken in Television as our only source of what white people are like, assuming that they wouldn't have any interest in any African american cultures nor able to handle it.

People think that because it happened so long ago, that slavery shouldn't be an issue anymore. well they can say that pretty easily if they never had it happen to their entire race for so long, and not to mention the segregation, the pay difference, and not being able to even vote. add those on and you could put my mother and father into this so called long forgotten history.

the root is: they don't like us...because in the end...racism was wrong...and those who were racist were wrong....so now they can't stand the fact that we can sit at a table next to them in the same restaurant and be considered customers; that we can freely say what we want without being hanged for it; that we can not only look, but talk and date white women without the same fate.

same for black racists, they can't stand seeing one of "their own" women being with a white man, they don't enjoy the fact that "the white man" gets payed more because he simply worked hard in school (but most would say that he got his parents to pay for his college). I'm not saying that a Black man doesn't have his reasons, being in an impoverished place, raised in what seems like a losing enviorment, with no way out besides either selling drugs or working at the Mcdonalds, yeah...that was me, and I'm no ghetto hoodlum, I'm not in any gangs, I don't even have a speeding ticket...because I worked harder...I'm intelligent because I payed attention in school, I have a bright future now because I didn't settle for less.

me and several other African Americans are proof that even in such places, hope still exists.

Like I said, this is about racists, not white people, racist should not be allowed to claim a skin color, because an intelligent white person doesn't hold contempt for black people, neither does an intelligent Black person for whites.

course I'm sure you meant just white racists, not actually white people in general.

sorry, but I could only make my point by going on this long...

It is a white male thing, penis envy. It's the phallic phenomena. The Salem witch trials. a woman that didn't make herself "vulnerable" to the male hierarchy was declared a witch. What does a racist see when he sees a bi-racial couple? Isn't the whole racial thing based on ignorance? So how can you expect any scientific answers to explain this mental health problem? There is no logic. Was every white man's father/mother harmed by a black person? Do they carry some sort of unseen disease that takes away jobs and cause white males to produce only female children? (etc.) So why the un-founded prejudice? Must be mental.

Guilt. They hate the truth. That they are thieves and murders, and that they couldn't have industrialized without the free labor of slaves and the land they stole from the Indians. They cannot admit to the truth.

Consider this. White immigrants enslaved the Africans because they couldn't afford to pay proper wages. They wanted free labor. Don't open up a plantation if you ain't got the money. And don't murder Indians just because you ain't got the money to buy land. Humans don't do that. Americans have the blood of murderers and thieves.

So the truth is that America wouldn't be as "great" as a lot of people would like to think it is, without free labor and stealing land. And how does the media and school system respond to these facts? They suppress the truth by not teaching kids that slavery and genocide are wrong. That's why most people don't think of Americans as murderers and thieves. Because the real criminials are protected. In other words, Americans just let it "slide," and they glorify the people who came up with the Declaration of Independence, etc.

Also, the media keeps the public ignorant. Blacks are stereotyped as criminals but the truth is that more whites committed crimes than blacks in 2006 according to http://www.ussc.gov/annrpt/2006/table4.p... 28% whites versus 24% blacks. In other words, you are more likely to be attacked by a white person than a black person. It's just that the media doesn't portray the truth on TV.

not all "white" people are this way!!! i happen to be a white woman married to a black man and we get looks and comments from both white and black people.
i would say that it truly depends on the people that are around you and the way that you carry yourself as to what may be said about you.
most people were raised by parents that are racist and therefore they have had it implanted in them from birth. they were never given the choice to make their own decisions and come to their opinion of someone different from their "own kind".

my own opinion is that this is selfish of parents raising their children this way as well as ignorant foolishness.

GOD BLESS have a wonderful day!!!!

Well, you can expect ignorant answers when you ask an ignorant question. How much have you truy suffered in your life? I think the fallacy of every white person being born with a silver spoon lodged in their *** and a hatred of everything non-white has run its course. I have contempt for most of the human race, I dont discriminate when it comes to stupidity. Just the fact that you asked the question shows that you are part of the problem and not the answer. The world is what you make it, so start making and quit bitching.

heh the way folks are goin' on here you'd think we were the devil himself. anyway to be true i have no idea why other white folks have contempt for black folks but i do see an awful lot of it here so i guess i'm unique among my kind. now i can only speak for myself and i have no real contempt for anyone that being said i know that white folks do have a habit of misplacing their anger and putting it on others and black folks would make the best target because aside from the whites themselves it's blacks that make up most of the population, keep in mind it's so much easier to blame those not of your people

Are you trolling here? I'm white, I don't have that attitude. I don't associate with any body that is racist or has a farked up attitude. If you can't do anything positive about the situation we all are in, then get out of the way... NOW.

Regarding the article about the man who was killed while being carjacked. How would you like to see him hanging from a rope in a tree after his body was recovered? Do you even know how it hurts to see young black men who were murdered and proudly displayed hanging, with lots of picture-taking and a party to boot? My soul hurts for the poor families who went through this shameful act, and yet there are multiple pictures of this on the net, with smiling white people showing how proud they are of their "catch."

my (initial) prejudiced came from my grandparents who emigrated from Ireland. they would say stuff to us kids that literally made me fear and hate the blacks. all the whole time I was growing up, I heard stuff.

it wasn't until I went to COLLEGE that I actually got to meet and really know any blacks, and that was by chance, just so happened that my freshman assignment (dorm room) was with this black kid from Boston. This guy turned out to be the coolest kid I'd ever met, seriously. After that, my prejudiced was out the door. I judge people on a case by case basis and that goes for any race. If I like you, cool, if I don't I just won't be bothered with you. I also met a cool a** asian kid (and my grandparents used to say some mean stuff about them too).
