introduce yourself to someone and they take it upon themselves to shorten your name, give me a break! which part of my name is Laura not Lori do they not get????

I get called Lor, Laura, Laurel, Lala, Hey You, My sisters name, little kids call me Wori, LOL!!!!!! I guess only Lor is a short form. I sometimes get called other things that I won't say on here!!! LOL!!!! Lor doesn't bother me that much, lots of people do it!!! LOL!!! Why I don't know, what is so hard about saying Lori instead of Lor??!! LOL!!!

I think people are thinking of what they're going to say when they meet someone and your name doesn't always register correctly.
