My dad had just walked outside, leaving me alone in the house, and I glanced into the kitchen. I saw somebody with a red shirt walking toward the living room, jumped because I got scared half to death, and looked back. There wasn't anyone there.
Another time, I'd been in my room and saw sparkles floating around. At first I'd thought it was light reflecting off of a spider web, so I reached to touch it, (not sure why) but didn't feel anything. So, I left my room and the sparkley-things followed me.
Does anyone know what either of these incidents could've been?
Oh, and before anyone says it, I'm not on drugs. Plus, I was completely awake both times. Please only answer if you have some idea of what it could've been.

It appears you are one of the lucky people who are open to the spiritual channels. Spirits (human or otherwise) must feel comfortable being in your presence as so few people are allowed to have the experiences you have witnessed.
I would say the man in the red shirt could be a human spirit or it could also possibly be the spirit of a fae, Immortal or other creature as many entities are capable of polymorphing and appearing in human form.
The sparkles sound very reminiscent of fae and given their appearance as sparkles I would say they are Astral faeries.
You should consider yourself lucky to be open to the spiritual realm and I would suggest exercising your gift!

That was a Spirit
Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood.
A Ghost is a Spirit which is a Soul the Etheric body that we use to Astral Travel so when we pass over that is what leaves the body.
It is understood as a sort of life force body or aura that constitutes the "blueprint" of the physical body, and which sustains the physical body.
Some people don't pass over because of unfinished business
Or they just don't know they have died
Or they didn't know to go to the light
This is what people call a Ghost
I call Spirit they may just be a Lost Soul
These are then Earth bound Spirits you may call Ghosts
You could just say when next you encounter the Spirit again you are dead go to the light and that may set the Spirit free : ) if it don't work and you are worried about it ask Archangel Michael to come and take the Spirit to the light

It could be just about anything. Energy manifests in countless ways. If you didn't feel threatened in any way then I wouldn't become alarmed. It could just be a gaurdian of some sort trying to let you know that there is nothing to fear. Have you lost someone in your circle of friends and relatives recently? Very often a soul will linger for up to 3 days to reassure someone left behind. Some souls simply refuse to go back and some just get lost. It could even be your guiding soul trying to remind you of your agenda in this life or to remind you that there is much more to reality than what the populus will ever allow you to believe. What ever it is if you do not fear it and allow it to, it will reveal what it is and what it's purpose is. Just allow yourself to become sensitive to the energy around you and learn to listen well and become open to every possibility

The present is the two a psychic present in the different case God needs to apply this present interior the right way. I even have an analogous or suitable present you may say. Your Avatar is a cat. From such I would assume your totem animal is a feline. Feline spend a lot of time seeing things most mundane humans don't. A well caressed cat will attract dust sparkles and even pieces of thread to follow them---sometimes even your hair....they are easily filled with static electricity--something everyone knows of, but none can give a complete reason for.

The person in the red shirt was one of two things: A person who snuck in the house (this has happened to a lot of people) or a ghost.
The sparkles happen to many people right before migraines, or when blood flow suddenly changes to the brain.

Maybe you scared off a burglar. When you looked back he had bolted. At least it wasn't an axe murderer. He might have hid but he wouldn't run. Of course It could be the spirit of an axe murderer who can't go across and is stuck in the house because of his evil deeds.

There is a possibility that there is a spirit, don't worry it wont hurt you, this may sound silly but the spirit might not know it's dead. Just tell the spirit nicely that it's dead and to go in peace into the light and it will leave.

The red shirt I don't know. The sparkles are from another person, a live person. When someone magical is thinking very strongly of you the sparkles can happen.
They are usually the color of that persons aura.That can help tell you who it is.

the person with the red shirt might have been anything, but the "sparkles" could be the bacteria that lives in your eye. sometimes its visible if your staring into space(so to speak) for a while. i see them every now and then and they always astound me for a little while.
