This is aimed at Cons who still support the war. Why are they not as eager to help the American people with their tax dollars? I mean if they are so charitable with their money for those desperate Iraqi civilians...than why not to the people that are desperately poor here in the U.S.? It makes me wonder if they are really "helping" Iraqis like they say or just adding that in to make the war look better and make them look like they are doing the Iraqis good when their homes are being destroyed, their children seeing the sights of war and having troops in Iraq is just drawing more terrorists into the area.

The republicans became charitable with the Iraqis because they are covering for all the Bush administration's mistakes.Once again they are spinning the truth. They are shameful.

final I appeared the federal government alongside with state and native governments spend over 1000 billion funds a year on individuals. There could be so lots greater funds accessible if we stopped offering taxpayer funded courses to unlawful extraterrestrial beings, and cut back the bloated pay of many employed by government. permit's all artwork at the same time to end giving funds to illegals, and to trim lower back the outrageous pay many in the first public sector get carry of.

People in the U.S. are not poor. People in this country don't know what poverty is. Even the "poor" people in this country have cable tv, or satellites, most have cell phones and big screen tv's. If you don't have money in this country that is your own darn fault. We live in a free country. That means you have the freedom to go and work and make a living. I'd rather have my tax dollars spent on our soldiers, and their families, than some stupid sap who does nothing but sit on their azz all day watching Jerry Springer and waiting for their check to come in the mail.

They only claim to support them now that public opinion has turned against the war. It's an incredibly transparent strategy on the part of the party of the heartless.

I want to mention Obama's comment.
For the cons stating that if we pull out of Iraq, it will lead to genicide, like what happened after Viet Nam.

First, exactly why are we in Iraq to begin with.
Second, if in fear of genocide, why are we not in Sudan or other places.

They want to spend your money in Iraq not theirs. The top one percent got a nice tax cut from Bush. My taxes went up not down under Bush. The Cons also want others to fight and die for what they support as "the War on Terror". Cons always ask others to do the dirty work for them.

Helping is an interesting way to put it, we help ourselves to the resources and establish big bases in the region to protect the oil flow. A docile friendly Iraqi government would help in that. but either way that's the plan.

Because the primary intention is the protection of our nation and its citizens. The fact that money is being spent to rebuild and assist the impoverished people of Iraq is secondary and a testament to the US sense of responsibility. Japan was rebuilt after WWII, so the concept is not unique.
It is true that there are those within our borders that need assistance. What have you done this week to assist your neighbors that may be in need? I have done several things - I don't feel that it is solely the position of the federal government to dole out funds. There needs to be a focused local effort to assist. Many of the people who claim they need assistance are out of touch and don't recognize the difference between needs and wants. While many have cell phones, nice cars, designer clothes, they allow their children to walk around in rags and live in deplorable conditions - this is not my fault, it is all of ours - we have allowed our priorities to be misplaced and the family unit to decay. Anything run on the federal level is far too large and unmanageable which leads to rampant waste and abuse. It has to start locally and with each of us.

Cons figure the price of gas will go down. Largely because they are not very observant.

_____________

The real america, posting below says "Anything run on the federal level is far too large and unmanageable which leads to rampant waste and abuse." Doesn't that obviously apply to the military? Funny how when you ask a Republican this, they have an excuse...
