Do you think a society that beheads someone will not torture a prisoner just because we don't?

I think your inference is true when it come to torturing enemy combatants of another nation(Military). When it come to terrorist organisation. They do it any way. I know two wrongs do not make a right. That's obvious! I am just saying one should not be deluded enough to believe if we do not. These terrorist organisation will follow suite. I do not believe in the torturing of prisoners of war. For a myriad of reasons. I just feel that no matter what we do. These Terrorist organisations will torture Americans anyway. Not to mention torture does not provide reliable info. For the most part. If you torture someone long enough. They will tell you what ever you want to hear. So I believe no Prisoner in this war on terror should be tortured. I just wish the Muslim terrorist organisations could also learn the difference and follow suite. Ask the Russians if terrorists torture Russian soldiers during the Afghan war. They did, not only that they murdered surrendering soldiers. So history shows us it doesn't matter what the super power at the time does. These terrorist will torture, murder and so on. The do no follow the Geneva Conventions. They never will! So the argument should we torture enemy combatants, wont they torture our military personnel when they are captured. In order for this to happen these terrorist organisation would have to stop torturing in the first place. Not to mention the intentional murdering of civilians.
Peace!!! Love!!! Harmony!!! Health!!!

And decapitating with a dull knife is what?
Anyway, nothing the USA has done was torture. That word has a narrow definition and implies physical or mental damage; not being uncomfortable. Also, the Geneva Convention only applies to uniformed enemies which they are not. The USA has chosen in the past to follow the conventions even when we were not required to because of the nature of the threat was lower then any international gum flapping but ther situation is hugely different with radical Islam as they have no real relation to a nation and they have a particularly nasty lack of conscience. One can ill afford to fool around with people who's entire desire is to destroy western civilization and return to the norms of the Middle Ages and ancient times (which do not include Geneva Conventions).

it particularly is finished on a volunteer foundation via our military. We carry our enemies to blame to the Geneva convention and have been the main important tension in the back of it particularly is introduction. It especially outlaws drowning torture. It additionally outlaws beating POWs for coaching. We did yet with an open hand somewhat of a clinched fist. i will hit as no longer undemanding the two way with my hand. It makes us hypocrites on a international diploma for human rights. we are in a position to't be a shinning city on the hill if the fort has a dungeon actively utilising torture.to place it yet in any different case undergo in innovations how dissatisfied you have been while Obama appointed all those tax cheats collectively as elevating your taxes? it particularly is the sensation of disbelief and anger the entire international had while it became introduced u . s . might torture POWs.

i don't click on links - the biggest humiliation is when they treat our people with respect and release them.
our policies have cost us respect from the rest of the world - that is the biggest damage.
anytime we fail to follow the geneva convention we open our troops up to the same abuses we dish out - it is just common sense - that is why the geneva convention was created.
any time we invade a country we open ourselves up to global condemnation - thereby putting our troops at greater risk as well as our country.
but those to promote these abuses care little for our country or the geneva convention - they treat this like a joke - they push and push and push and snicker at our inability to stop them it is a inside joke to them.
make no mistake the dems are just as guilty as the repubs - this is a non bi-partician issue.

It matters NOT they they would or will torture our soldiers.
WE ARE AMERICA, AND THAT SHOULD SPEEK FOR ITSSELF!
IF WE TORTURE THEN HOW ARE WE ANY DIFFERENT FROM THEM?
IF WE TORTURE THEN WE MIGHT AS WELL JOIN THE OTHER SIDE!
BECAUSE TORTURE IS NOT AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They have been torturing people and hostages well before we were. Us stopping something that MIGHT be going on wouldn't stop them from beheading civilian contractors and journalists.
