When I was 15 I left home and would return during the summers. It was always awkward being with my mom. When I went to college and could come home on breaks - it was even more weird. My mother had a hard time allowing me to become an adult - and consistently treated me like a child/young person. Finally, I moved to California and would come home only periodically. My mother seemed different. Older. To her, I was still her eldest, but she still treated me as a child in some ways. When I had my daughter, I understood my mother. I was always able to come home. Home was just different to me because I had changed and the people at home changed too.
Now, there is no home to return to. Mom, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents - they are all dead. The house was sold years ago. Strangers now live within.
I now realize that
Home is where
your
heart
is.

I can never go home again, there is nothing there any more,
just a vancant lot after it burned to the ground. Nothing can ever be the same you know. Each second is different never to be again

I could never go home again and live with my parents. I feel that when I am with the for an extended period of time I get so annoyed. I love them and all but Ive grown into my own person. That is why I moved out to begin with.

I can never go home again. Well, being that I'm an adult it would be a little absurd at this point, but even when I first left...going back was not an option.

No, you 'can't go home again' ... and frankly, I don't think I'd want to. In fact, my husband may have to move to the city I was born in, and I'll go with him, of course ... but it will be a 'weird feeling' living there, because all of my 'older relatives' are dead now, and I am the oldest, so the 'sights' may bring back may 'old memories' and many of those will not be 'good memories' ... some will, but many won't. Besides which ... I love the city we are living in now!

I can always go back home, but the place has changed so much... it's like another lifetime... it's melancholy in a way returning to the haunts of your youth... i see my home town now, with 2 visions... through the eyes of my youth... and the reality of today...

You can always go home and things will be the same, but your fantasy when you were away was much brighter.
