They look like good city runabouts but you have to remember the majority of Americans live in the suburbs and country - and these cars don't look like they could handle that kind of driving especially on the highway where you have a 70 mph speed limit. But I think that city dwellers should be encouraged to buy these (maybe through tax incentives?) to reduce traffic congestion and pollution in the city streets.

I love it and would buy something like it if it were available.
The current small cars in the States are Ford Focus like(Mini excluded).
And for someone like me who likes the quality, fit and feel of a BMW over a Ford 500, a Focus type doesn't cut it.The small car market is just better in Europe. I just wish we'd get some more of their fun small cars.

PS: look at the comments by most Americans about it being unsafe because it's so small or its underpowered at 70mph. Ive driven plenty of these smaller cars in Europe and really found them peppy on highways and quite roomy. The semi ugly but small Fiat Multipla was huge inside, recieved exellent milage and in crash tests, fared better than an American SUV. The best part was most of these cars came as stick shifts.
I admit, you cant change the mind if a typical RED WHITE and BLUE "bigger is better" no matter how hard you try, and it suckes because that simpleton idealism keeps some really great vehicles from hitting our shores.

To sum it up:

The car is awesome.
and
most(90%) Americans are simpletons and behind the times when it comes to what they drive. Really anything nowadays.
Sorry, but it's true and you know it. I see you everyday. So why don't you get a flag tatoo on your butt and have a beer, watch some NASCAR and talk about how great you are with your buddies. I hear your opinion every day, and it's now mine. That felt good :)

Frankly, I hate most domestic car designs here in the U.S. but I gotta tell you.. that one looks like something I pinched-off in the toilet! Yuk! I like small cars but I HATE Peugeots. They are poorly designed, poorly built, expensive and are so undependable they spend more time in service than on the roads. Japan has dozens of micro-car designs that are very fuel efficent, cheap and will run forever but I doubt we will ever see them over here. Our driving habits are much different from most other countries -- we drive fast, hard and for long, long distances. We spend almost as much time in our cars as we do anywhere else and feel cheated when we buy a car and it has a major breakdown with less than 175,000 miles on it. I know -- we are jaded but we love good cars (and despise rotten ones like Detroit made in the seventies). And just so you'll know -- 0 to 60 in 9 seconds over here is laughable! Trying to merge that fudge pocket onto the interstate would get you flattened.
Hey -- you asked......

Small wheels +short wheel base = bumpy ride.
Small engine= noisy thrashing at constant high rpm
Noisy thrashing+bumpy ride=chore to drive more than about 100 miles.
Chore to drive= makes you tired after two hours
Small body=little crash protection
Small body=cramped passengers
Small body=low luggage capacity.

Good for driving about town=motorised shopping trolley.

That's a view from Australia anyway.

Strange shape, though pretty. Without any objects for scale, they appear to be toy cars. Looks like it would be dangerous to drive with trucks around on a highway.
