That would be some pretty strong evidence. Except if all planets are warming, then why is Mercury rapidly cooling?

Last time I checked, Mercury was a planet in our solar system. And what about Venus, Saturn, and Uranus? And the fact that solar activity has been ruled out as a major factor in the acceleration of global warming over the past 40 years?

Can any reasonable person who reads all the scientific evidence possibly remain a global warming denier?

What really confuses me is that so many conservatives are overjoyed with the idea that solar activity may be causing catastrophic climate change on Earth and there is nothing we can do about it, rather than thinking that there is some man-made effect on climate that we just might be able to control. I guess it is more important for them that Al Gore be wrong than it is to be able to save ourselves.

seriosly, this could be a query (or is this greater often than not tongue in cheek)? i visit anticipate you're joking, yet once you at the instant are not, here is going. that's not an identical! you're attempting to evaluate 2 distinctive short sessions of time against one yet another? incredibly? Who is accustomed to? possibly some day we can discover out. Why could you anticipate the relation is linear anyhow? form of like if I double CO2. With each and every doubling, the greenhouse result gets much less and much less until eventually it theoretically could be 0. that's not that individuals did not understand the question, that's that we could extremely not waste our time answering a non-question.

Mercury's iron core is cooling and has been for billions of years. This has nothing to do with the surface temperature of the planet.
The sun can cause variations in the planet's temperature here on earth and other planets due to increased solar flare and solar storm activity but unless it is in the process of changing into a red giant, it isn't fluctuating the temperature enough to create the rapid global warming we are experiencing now.

No self respecting climate scientist who has integrity will deny that global warming is being caused by human action.

The correct term is 'climate change'.

Most of the temperature differences within any planet is generated from that planets ability to retain heat from the sun, not the amount of heat from the sun that reaches that planet.

There is no global warming. It's a stupid religion headed up by Father Al Gore. It's called climate change and it's been happening since the beginning of time. Just because a handful of scientists think it's caused by us doesn't make it true. The majority say it's climate change.

Even if it is true that all planets are warming, that doesn't dismiss the evidence that man is intensifying the effect.

Doctors often say that overexposure to the sun causes premature aging of the skin. Would anybody argue against it by saying "well, all people age so the sun isn't causing it?"

well it obvious TheOrangeEvil has absolutely no clue what is going on. could have saved some time by just saying so, instead of attempting to use the alleged effects of global climate change, to deny it.

Did you read your first link?
But this is where the resemblance with our moon stops. Mercury has no large mare regions (dark "seas"), it has a significant internal magnetic field, and there is evidence that it has shrunk in size since it formed. Mercury is, in many ways, one of the least-understood planets in our solar system, since it was only visited by one spacecraft in the 1970s. It is hoped that the MESSENGER craft, now en route, will provide many clues to help decipher Mercury's complex history once the craft arrives in 2011.

Seems Murcury is a mystery NO ONE understands....

No, like I said the Rum and cokE, goes into the glads with icee. And it is cow poop that kauses global warming, it feel it everyday, cow poop, no heat wave it is 81 degrees herea nd furing this time of the year it is usuakky 101 degrees.

Mercury is the perfect example of a planet with no greenhouse effect at all. Virtually no heat gets trapped by greenhouse gases. Therefore if it's cooling, then wouldn't this mean the sun is cooling? Maybe flawed logic, but the same logic the deniers use.
