"If there is anything I can do for you....". Someone once said that to me and I felt like saying yes, pay some of the funeral bills for me.
Sometimes, the best thing is nothing at all.

I once got horrible looks on rushing in on gathering after a funeral for saying "I'm dying for a cup of tea".

My wifes boss was looking at the body of a co-worker before the funeral. He said, "Well, I guess that takes care of his performance problem." The boss is no longer with the company. I guess his performance problem was solved also. hohohohohoho.

I think its best to not make any comments, UNLESS the closest person to the deceased is there with you and ask you a specific question.
