I make handmade purses to sell and always have them on shelves... I need something to hold them in shape, mostly rectangular shape... not too heavy but good enough to keep them square....They are mostly cotton and not too large...

This can be a bit time consuming in the beginning, but it is really worth your while.
I would get the Styrofoam peanuts from a shipping firm like UPS. Place them in some zip lock lunch bags or fill up what ever size you might need. It is clean, reusable and readily available that will last forever. It also is great for shipping to.

Big bubble wrap or even small bubble wrap will do and is reusable too. I don't recommend using paper since it draws moisture and tears too easily.
To help stay square, just get some free cardboard boxes and cut strips to place inside of the purse by bending in 2 places to make a U shape for side and bottom support. Fill with plastic bubble wrap or the appropriate bag size of peanuts. Good luck! I works for me!

Go to an office that shreds paper and get that. It is free and a good use of a recycling. That way you can stuff as much or as little as you need.

Good luck with the purses.

I you go to a store like Sam's, you can buy a roll of white paper that delicatessens use to wrap subs in. That way, you could cut off what ever you need for each different size bag. It has enough body to hold it's shape when you crumble it to stuff the bags.

Call your local recycling center to see if they have paper you could re-use if you have quite a few purses. If not, your doctor's office or other offices with old magazines in the waiting rooms could be a great source of free filler. I don't recommend newspaper because the ink could rub off, but magazines are great sources of smudge-proof paper you could crinkle to fit inside any bag. Best of luck!

Well, when I buy a purse, they seem to have any kind of paper handy to stuff it.
