Could it possibly be depression ?

you should look up the signs and symptoms of Depression and see what you think....

IT does cause a feeling of despair, fatigue and an inability to be bothered doing anything (people see the person as lazy) and they can be withdrawn.....

Good Luck :)

Don't get involved in his 'poor me' speeches. When he launches into one, just appear to not even listen, certainly don't agree with him. Or come right out and tell him that people who do nothing for themselves are often hard done by and he's not unique or special for that. He IS hard done by. By himself. He's not the center of the universe and the world simply won't care if he lets himself fall through the cracks. Don't enable him. If he waits till the last minute to do something and then asks you to come to his rescue, let him stew for awhile. If you bail him out, stop.

he wants sympathy and support. but he's doing nothing to earn it. Don't entertain his need to be the victim.

People like that are freakin' annoying, aren't they?

Your friend should take a step back and look at himself and get his head out of his *** and do something with his life unless he does not want to help himself.
Depends on how good a mate you are tell him what you think and try and make him see sense.

He apparently thinks the world owes him a living. Let him know that there is no free lunch and if he wants to eat he needs to work. Tell him to stop feeling sorry for himself and do something to make things better in his life-like get a job and earn his own living.

Has your friend been spoilt by his parents? Unless he has ever felt hardship and had to buck his ideas up and had to work for a living, sadly, he'll always be a ****.

Lose the loser.

You should do nothing. Kick his lazy butt to the curb and fill your life with positive people who "have lives" too.
He is not your problem.

Do him a favor and ignore him. Caring only gives him more reason to be utterly useless.
