I hesitate to mention this but often a big "O" can really help with cramping.

Self-care

You can try a number of self-care strategies to reduce the discomfort of primary dysmenorrhea. Once the pain begins, soaking in a hot bath or using a heating pad on your abdomen may ease your cramps. You can also make some lifestyle changes to improve your overall health and possibly decrease the severity of your cramps. Try these tips:

Exercise regularly. Exercise results in an increased release of endorphins, your body's natural painkillers.
Get adequate rest. Your body may be less vulnerable to pain when you're well rested.

I used to have the worst cramps ever- and I tried EVERYTHING! And on top of the cramps I would be nauseated, dizzy, etc. I tried tylenol, naproxen, motrin, etc, etc. I went to the doctor and they tried me on a few different birth control pills, then some NSAIDs(Non steroidal anti-inflammatory). A couple of the NSAIDs helped but they made me so tired I couldn't go to my classes, live my life. My doctor suspected I had endometriosis, a disease my mom and grandmothers had. So, I went to a specialist and I am on an injection i get every three months called lupron. I do not have a period and all my pain is gone. I included the link that explains what endometriosis is. Obviously I cannot be the judge of why you have bad cramps or what can help but I definitely know you can get help! So do not hesitate to call your doctor!

Motrin helps the best. I take 4 at a time (800mg). Or have your Dr. prescribe you 800mg. tablets. I won't take anything else. If they are severe, severe you can also put one of those Playtex heat things on the front side of your under ware. Not on the inside you will burn yourself. Those are great. They stay heated for like 8 hours. Hope I could help.

I used to have the same problem...try to not drink caffiene. Sounds crazy but helps...Sprite, 7UP, stuff like that. If it gets real bad, talk to a Gyn...it helped me. Other doctors were giving me BC and pain pills, but turned out I had a cyst on an ovary...at 17! Don't assume the worst though. Just giving the facts.

Buscopan should give you some relief. I got given it once and haven't stopped using since. You can buy it over the counter now as well. You should see the doctor if that doesn't work, obviously.

You need to see your doctor to have them evaluate this situation further to see what they think could be causing this pain to be so intense.
