What we basically have here is a Rawanda type situation. The Sunnis have been in control of Iraq for 30+ years and ruled with an Iron fist over the majority Shia population. With free elections, Shia was put into power and given control of the majority of the military. Right now, U.S. forces are the only thing standing in the way from the majority shia completely slaughtering the minority sunni.

They never take responsibility for their actions. If they truly believe they are right then they should be willing to take credit for the results. They still refuse to take credit for the loss in Vietnam even though General Giap- the leader of the North Vietnamese army- gives them full credit. He said the north knew they couldnt beat us on the battlefield and were close to collapsing but the turmoil caused by letist in America showed that all the north had to hold on and the Americans would be forced to withdraw by their own people. Just a fact. Be proud of your accomplishments and take credit for your failures. And by the way, even left wing bodycount websites claim a max of 75,000 civilian deaths due to the war and further study shows that thousands of those included in this number died in things like a stampede of a religious festival where no military action was involved. Also the overwhelming majority of those deaths can be attributed to insurgent action where there was no US or Ally military presence. I know facts dont support the storyline but we should try using them anyway. And no I wouldnt have invaded even given the info that virtually ALL politicians agreed upon as fact but I would have bombed. No one lied and the line is getting sickening. We can disagree with decisions without acting like children

Of course it will be the Democrats fault, who's else?
How could it possibly the Republicans fault? God knows what would have happened if we hadn't gone in there, Saddam would still be in charge of a secular Islamic nation where women are treated equally and there is free health care and education through university level for all.
The utilities all worked and going down to the market wasn't gambling with your life, thank God we saved them from that!

Sure Saddam tortured and murdered his political enemy's, what dictator doesn't? What about Assad, Kim Jung Il etc.?
Should we go after every psychopath running a country?
There were no terrorists in Iraq before the war, Hussein wouldn't allow any organization but the Baath party to have power of any kind in Iraq.

The fact that so many Americans still believe that 9/11 and Iraq were connected boggles the mind.

We should have pulled out when george said 'Mission Accomplished', we should have gone in with a plan to reconstruct and get out. So at this point there is no 'premature pull out'. We Now Owe it to the Iraqi people to try and fix this mess we made. I'll be damned if I know how to fix this mess, and I am Very Sorry that more people (civilians and soldiers) will have to die before some kind of 'normalcy' is returned to Iraq. It might not be our kind of normalcy/peace/democracy, but at least something they are willing to live with and 'fight' for.

Face it -- there's already a civil war on, and we started it. I can guarantee you the troop pullout will happen faster than you can say "quagmire" as soon as the Iraqi parliament votes to privatize the oil fields, which it's been resisting so far in spite of pressure from the U.S. embassy. Stay tuned...

You're calling a U.S. pullout premature. I can only assume you mean a pullout within this year, as many are suggesting. Why is it premature? Is there evidence that Iraq is not ready to stand on its own? Even their PM has said they are ready. How would you suggest the government gauge a "mature pullout time"?

Iraqis are going to die regardless of what we do at this point. This has been a no-win situation from the beginning and the iraqi people would have been better off with their former government. Yes, that may be hard to believe but the fact is that we opened "pandora's box" when we removed Saddam and now the religious fanatics are in control.

Will you agree to hold Bush responsible when millions of Iraqis die anyway and will you hold him responsible for the 655,000 Iraqis who have already died?

The Democrats will never toe up to the line. The true bad guys in Iraq are not the Democrats or the Republicans here at home, but the Islamic extremist invading Iraq from Syria.
