Well if you had asked that question 2 months ago most people would have laughed in your face. Now since having a MLB best stretch of like 25 -12 or something along those lines, they are only 3 games out. With the brewers fading fast i think the cubs can easily make it this year. All they need is for their hitting to stay hot and no more fights between players and they got the central made.

Being a Cubs fan I say yes, but they are going to have to make it as a division winner. I just don't believe they can win the wild card spot because that will come out of the NL East. With that being said, they need 1 starter (NO more Marquis) and some quality long relief. The bull pen is not as bad as everyone seems to believe here and everywhere. Help could beoming in the form of Kerry Wood, pitched in his 3rd straight game last night and scoreless in all 3 appearances. And also by the way the Brewers are not fading fast. It will be tough but in the end I believe in the Cubbies.

It is going to be a bit tougher since the Brewers got Scott Linebrink as a nice set up man for Francisco Cordero. The Cubs pitching has been inconsistent after Carlos Zambrano. The bullpen can use a quality arm or 2 to help out as well

Of course! The Cubs should make it to the World Series but lose, 4 games to 2.

It would be great for the Cubs to break the curse, but there's just way too much competition and just too little available playoff spots.
I mean, there's only four spots and 16 teams.
And there's a lot of teams out in the National League battling for one of them:
Mets
Braves
Brewers
Cubs
Dodgers
Padres
D'Backs

With the way the are right now, they are in pretty good shape to do some damage in the playoffs.

I think if the Cubbies keep performing how they are, the postseason is not out of the question. However, their bullpen needs to start being consistent. They do have a legitimate shot to make it, and I look forward to it.
