sorry, windows 98 dosent support system restore, this feature was introduced in windows millenium and every windows version there after
the only possible way to do a system restore is if you installed a image recovery program which can do a similar job to windows system restore
image it 2 ( http://www.download.com/ImageIT/3000-2242_4-10437838.html?tag=lst-0-2)is a recovery program designed to run on windows 98,it does a similar job to system restore
also selkie rescue 2(http://www.download.com/Selkie-Rescue/3000-2242_4-10629580.html?tag=lst-0-3) is another program that can restore your p.c after a system crash
however as with all these type of software, you need to run this for a while to create the restore points and back ups
so unfortunetely theres nothing you can do at the moment, however if you have a product recovery disk that came with your p.c then you will be able to restore your p.c to its original default state
good luck mate!

As far as I know, System Restore wasn't introduced to windows till Windows XP. So, no you won't be able to restore a computer on windows 98.

There is no System Restore feature in Windows 98. However you should be able to find backup copies of the registry for the last few times you used the computer. Reverting to one of these is the nearest you will get to System Restore.

Go to sytem restore, start > programs > accessories > sytem tools > system restore, you may have a restore point, you should upgrade to XP or vista if your pc meet's the requirments.
EDIT//
Yeah, May not be in 98 But back up your files and re-install 98.

windows 98 used to keep 5 copy's of the registry which you could restore it would save them once a day when you first booted to restore a registry first boot into dos hold down the crtl key when booting until the boot menu appears then choose command prompt only when in dos type scanreg/restore then press enter.
use the up/down cursor keys to choose a registry date then use the left/right cursor keys to highlight Restore or Cancel press enter then wait for it to reboot.

APPLE help - what a comedian tale. If it have been underclothes, you will possibly holiday over you very own balls. I stated as them three times and became informed they might help me. 2 minutes later they decrease me off. I had to pass to a internet site to repair the iPad. If i will retrieve the link (URL) i will pass it alongside. do no longer UPGRAD TO IOS 9!! it particularly is going to lock you out!
