All the bought-off referees in the world wouldn't have helped the Cavs in the finals this year. They flat out sucked... Even if all 3 refs would have been in on the fix, the Spurs still would have won...that's how much better they were than the Cavs.
But it was just one referee, and I think I heard that he was involved not in fixing the outcome of games, but in shaving points (i.e. manipulating the point spread). We'll have to see what happens.

If the NBA was fixed, Greg Oden and Kevin Durant would have gone to Boston, or New York, or Philly... not in the middle of nowhere, where half the country will be asleep while they're playing. LeBron James would be in a bigger market than Cleveland. The Lakers, the league's premier franchise, wouldn't be in so much turmoil. This was one guy that got mixed up with the wrong people... don't forget, games are officiated by three refs, so one guy is only going to have so much influence. We're likely talking more about point shaving than win/loss manipulation.

It might as well be but it is not like all the refs did that, but if this is true then we might have the false champion. What if the whole NBA is just a big fix game, that would explain why the suns lost to the spurs, because the NBA suspended two very important players who could have helped win

I do not think so.....but you never know....Every sport is bound
to get through these phases of fixed games. Soccer and Cricket are notoriously famous....
NBA is not too far.
Knowing that there are points spread, refs paid low compared to the players and others, and the way betting is
made, I do not see why matches are NOT fixed. This is just a
guess as I do not have any proof.
If one watches the games closely, even in play-offs some games do not really look as they are for real.....I am skepticle
about some.....with the next day heading....of miracle....

No because what about all of those times when a player hit a last min. shot or a great block. A referee might miss a call once in a while but it is normal. The referee never did anything in the playoffs.

Lets face it, the Spurs are a great team. In my opinion if they wouldn't of suspended Amare, Spurs wouldn't of made it into the finals. But since they did make it, they won because they were the better team, Lebron can't do it all himself. But i do agree, there were many bad calls, but still Cavs had no chance against a championship caliber team like the Spurs.

no it was just one ref i don't think the NBA game is fixed, i think that the game is fair and the refs are human so they miss some calls but besides that it seems clean to me
