This is a true story.
One time, I was in the airport... and I was going through security... and I had flipflops on.
Then they asked me to take off my shoes because they thought I was hiding things in them : /
lol.

This happened to my young niece, last week. She was flying from England to Turkey. I suppose you just have to comply, but it does seem a bit ridiculous, if they think you're hiding something in thin soled flip-flops
Oh, and they were put on the belt to be scanned
