Actually it's a very thick line and most don't do the slave thing.

I don't understand the question. Is there a thin line between respecting people and being slaves to them? I see it as the same question. Respecting and being slaves to have nothing to do with each other.

I don't think the line is all that thin. Was there a specific example? Because I don't know any pagans who are slaves to spirits.

Thin line? ::scratches head:: Whatever makes you think that?

The gods are our Elder Kin - meaning that we respect them like we would, say, a grand-uncle. I'm not sure how you make the jump from that to being a slave - there's no general surrendering of will to them involved in that. So, I'm not quite sure why you think there's some sort of thin line, or that the two are in any way even close.

Can't say I "didn't like that one" - it's baffling, I'll admit, but hardly anything that makes me dislike the question.

I know of no Pagan who is a slave to Spirits. That is a really silly statement. You can not be a slave to Spirits.

What is this even in connection with? How?

I've never heard of anyone being a slave to a spirit, so I'll have to say no, it's not a thin line.

I don't agree. I respect my husband, father, and bosses at work but I'm no where close to being a slave to these people. To give respect is a choice that I make depending on whether someone has earned it. A slave has no choices. I respect and love my deities greatly but I'm not forced to do so.

some spirits jsu get sucked straight out of the glass - but then thats an alcholic for you. that and they have problems holding whips - they just dont have the hand for it .... lol

I suspect that you will probably find the veil is more like a door, and its more like dodgy spirit - kicked out, friendly - invited in as a guest for a bit. no whips or alcohol (well, for many anyway)

^ Respect yes, but; Pagans are not slaves to spirits, where do you get your information?
