What is the gap between the mag and the flywheel on an older model lawn boy can,t find serial number

The air gap is .003-.008 inches. If it is a briggs and has points you can change to an electonic module. No more points.

On an older mower that is probably way out of spec, I take an old credit card, license, gift card and use it to set the gap. Tighten it so that the card stands by itself, but you can pull it out with a light tug.
