Less than an airline pilot I think. It is a standard government job. Up to about $7,000 tops.

Astronauts are not paid as well as you might think. They are paid on the government pay scale, the GS scale. They can make anywhere from 50k-60k typical per year. So, thats a little over 4k a month. Astronauts typically dont get into the field for the money. If they did they'd be in the wrong profession.

Not really sure, probably PAY GRADE plus HAZARDOUS DUTY PAY.

Probably about $5,000 to $6,000 a month in basic pay, $800 when they fly (including into space) and $225 for hazardous duty (which space would include).

So on the ground somewhere between $4,000 and $6,000 a month and in space another $1,000 is added to that.

In training if they fly another $800 is added to that.

So taht's $50,000 to $100,000 a year tops.

I'm going on the Basis most are Captains to Colonels.

Remember that NASA delayed the launch becuse
crack was found in the tanks?

How poorly the guys must be paid, if they tried to
smuggle crack in the tanks of their shuttle?
