How about Kansas, with a minimum wage of $2.65 per hour?! Do you suppose anyone actually works at that rate?

Rent should be no more than 1/3 one's take home pay. A person earning £5.35 an hour, 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year only earns £927 a month. £750 on rent leaves next to nothing for the other expenses.
