I have an odd question but I'm wondering if maybe you guys can help.

When you first have intrercourse, and you get your cherry popped, when you go to the doctor's for a check up (you know, down in the private area) does the doctor notice that your cherry's been popped? If so, do they note it and let you know? I'm just a little curious.

If you can answer this, thank you so much!

The exam you're referring to is a "pelvic exam."

And I don't think doctors care if your hymen has been torn or not, or how or why, unless you ask about it yourself. It has no bearing on your physical health whatever, and that's all the doctor is interested in.

First, the "cherry" is just a metaphor. What is actually torn or stretches is your hymen, a thin membrane covering the vagina. I know what your really scared of, going to the doctor and the doctor telling your parents that you are not a virgin. The hymen in not a 100% way of knowing if your are a virgin or not, but there are some other internal ways (like on the cervix or inner walls of the vagina that can suspect if you are a virgin or not. Anyways what ever the information is that a doctor gets or discovers during your exam can be discussed with your parents if you are under 18, it just really depends on if the doctor is going to or not.

Usually they can tell, but not always. Some girls don't have one or lose it in other ways (such as horseback riding). They will ask you if you have had intercourse and will note that even before they look inside. They will not "let you know" unless they see a problem.

They also are not allowed to tell your parents anything if you ask them not to - due to doctor-patient privilege. Of course, you should have an open dialogue with your parents anyway.

I am so proud you're going to the gynecologist! Congratulations! Don't be scared to discuss ANYTHING with the doc. They've heard MUCH worse than anything you could ask. They will NOT judge you. Good luck.

Well usually the doctor will ask you if you are sexually active anyways. They can also tell by doing a pap smere if that is what you are referring to. They cant tell just by looking at your vagina itself, unless they look inside. But they will notice that your hymen is broken. It can break from many things such as putting a tampon in, so its not a big deal. But if you are sexually active you should def tell the doctor so they can check for things. I was nervous too, but they do not tell your parents. Its for your own health!

well what popping your cherry, refers to is something called hymen, its a thin lining in your vagina that gets broken, it cause some to bleed with they lose their virginity. There are a number of ways it can get broken not just from sex. I doubt the doctor will note it, even if he he can tell, what kind of check up, pap-smear? cause if its not your first, your first pap, might have broken the hymen already. If he asks if you are sexually active tell the truth

Why would you being getting a checkup there if you're not sexually active? Also, there are a lot of things that can break a hymen, not just sex. AND the doctor isn't going to say anything to you, but they probably wouldn't notice anyway. If anything, they'll ask if you're sexually active. If you are, say yes. Don't lie to your doctor. They can't go tell your mom. That's illegal.

You don't always get your cherry popped from intercourse. It could also be caused from inserting a tampon. The doctor probably won't say anything unless theres a major problem.

As a matter of health, yes, doctors do check the health of the hymen.

And no, they don't care.

I guess they probably would start asking questions if you were 5 ... but other than that ... they've seen everything.

If you Cherry Pops, it could be for many other reasons then having sex for the first time.

Your doctor may or may not notice it, if they notice this they will talk to you about sex and how to be careful. that is all.

They will notice, but it won't matter. They know that several things can break a hymen and unless you complain about being raped or a VERY young, they probably won't even mention it. Does it really matter anyway?
