Whant can we do to save the only home we've got. AThere is so much going on: global warming, slavery, starvation, domestic violence, un-curable diseases, money problems. Is there a way to make it end? And why does it happen. I am deeply sorry if this question has offended anyone.

It happens because many people are indifferent, and often times do not think it matters until it directly effects them.
Although I will absolutely disagree with you on global warming, and other junk science myths.

There are enough "real problems" for us to be concerned about; as you pointed out.
Solution:
Follow two simple rules; be a good steward, and do not do onto others, what you would not have them do onto you.
Perform simple acts of kindness, and work on your own corner of the world, starting in your own home, or town.
You do not have to go global, just look around any street corner, and start.

We can only do our best, but they are things in life that have gone beyond help.
But the only way to end this is to abolish greed and violence. I will not end the nightmare, but it will be a start.

Start with yourself. Help whatever way you can. Think about how much better things would be if every one cared and took responsibility.
