I just can't deal with periods!

I am on birth control and everything is so irregular even when I wasn't on birth control. I become so depressed when I have my period and withdraw from everyone, even my mom.

Unless there is a medical reason, you cannot have one until your 18 or 25.

No, without a medical necessary reason. There is a certain age before they will even tie your tubes, I believe it's 35 if you haven't had any children. If you were say 25 or something like that and have 3 kids or so then they will do that, but even with that you still get your period. Just deal with it hun, most of us secretly hate it lol, the only reason we do deal with it is for babies in our future and quite honestly because we have to lol. You will be fine. Their are birth controls pills now that you can take where you only have 4 periods a year and even one that you only have 1 a year. I would suggest the 4 a year one if any, it just doesn't seem healthy not to get a period but once or none a year. I think the 4 a year one would be good for it, I believe it's called seasonale or something like that.

The doctor would have to establish medical necessity for you to have a hysterectomy at age 16. Also, in some States doctors can't do a hysterectomy on someone younger than 30 unless they get permission from the State Medical Board.

Because of the problems with your periods they need to find out if you have a hormone imbalance going on to cause the problem. Many hormone imbalances can be pretty easy to treat with medication such as the pill but there are other medications that can be helpful depending on the kind of hormone imbalance it is.

I would also recommend consulting with a gynecologist if you haven't already to see what they say.

Unless it is medically necessary, no they will not just give you a hysterectomy for your periods. Have you asked your doctor about some medication for your periods? Some will put you on birth control if they are painful or heavy.

There are probably lots of treatment options that can take care of the problems you're having with your periods, including your mood swings. I hope you'll investigate all of them before resorting to anything as drastic and permanent as surgery. But I believe at 16 you can consent to a hysterectomy if your doctor agrees that it's in your best interest under your particular circumstances.

With no medical reason (other than "I just can't deal with periods!"), you're just going to have to rough it out just like the rest of us.

Don't you want to have children someday? If you get a hysterectomy, that will completely diminish your chance.
