My favorite self-help book is focused on identifying what it is that you want out of life and then finding a practical path to that life. It's sort of a manual for living your dreams. I first read the book about thirty years ago, and it has worked out very well for me.

The book is called Wishcraft: How to Get What You Really Want, and the author is Barbara Sher.

This is not a self-help book but it is very profound and left me thinking for weeks. I have yet to pick up a book since because of the contents of this book. Read it and it will help your life and see how lucky your are and how much you take for granted. It is called A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown. I read it in one weekend.

"Happiness" by Daniel Nettle. It is very readable and contains the results of scientific(psychological) studies about what really makes people happy and gives suggestions anyone can use.
I quote from the book, "Evolution hasn't set us up for the attainment of happiness, merely its pursuit. It tricks us into working for things good for our fitness by making us believe those things will make us happy. It doesn't actually have to deliver the happiness in the end."

The author is a psychiatrist and the book is about the sessions he had with one of his patients. One of my favorite books ever!
