No, a word isn't just a word. There is meaning behind the word that can really hurt someone. I don't think anyone should swear under and curcumstances. It's hurtful depending on the word and if you say it at the wrong time you can get into quite some trouble. Good luck hun!

My thoughts on teenagers and swearing is this....Is it a REALLY a battle you wanna pick?? With teens, youll be punishing them CONSTATLY for it. I think there are a few words that might ok after like maybe 14 or 15 like, h*ll,damn, and ***. Other then that OFF LIMITS!!! maybe a SLIP UP here and there thats ok. the F word NO WAY!! It should not be allowed to a regular in ther vocabulary however...used SPARINGLY...like a spanking....less someone swears more of an effect it has. I also think that its ok if its one or 2 swears are possibly thrown into a fight EVERY ONCE in a while. let it go. NO NAME CALLING EVER!! but if you give SOME freedom, with it then they won't feel the need to do it and sooner or later they will start to anyways so may as well teach them whats acceptable and when. In adult life.

No it's not ok for teenagers or anybody for that matter. I'm 20 and I'm trying not to cuss because it says in the Qur'an that ALLAH(GOD) hates bad words. Cussing can get you into trouble.

George Carlin said there are no bad words, just bad intentions. And Mark Twain said that profanity often provides a relief denied even to prayer.

But profanity also is a lazy way of expressing yourself. There is almost always a more intelligent way of getting your thoughts across. Profanity for its own sake is just showboating and the sign of an insecure mind.

If you do it too much it can be seen as tacky or immature. But everyone cusses. As long as it isnt directed at someone in an attempt to degrade them or just piss them off, then Im sure most people wouldnt have a problem with you cussing.

Cussing is bad not only for teens but adults (Im guilty of it and need to stop) You use your brian more if you can think of more crative things to say to someone instead of cussing, iT shows intellegence when cussing shows nothing but stupidity( Like I said Im guilty and need to work on it)

I think that when you stub your toe, the natural instint is to let out an F bomb, but other than that, I think that teens should say these words sparingly. It's annoying hearing the F World in every sentance, but it would be that way for any word really.

Yeah I'd say it is. Now parents, don't get me wrong, But when you're mad, and really mad, sometimes, you just need to let it out, and swearing is a theraputic way to do that. LIke when I accidentaly cut open my toe the other day, I just had to say ****! because I was really upset. I wouldn't encourage it, or let them do it, to insult someone, but sometimes, It's a must. And let's be frank. All teens swear anyway. whether you like it, or not.
