I have read the US Constitution and I have not found one Biblical or Christian principle in it. Am I missing something?

10 Commandments have nothing to do with the Constitution.

First Commandment directly contradicts the First Amendment.

"One Nation Under God" is not in the Constitution. It is in the Pledge of Alliegance..and even then it wasn't added until the 1950s

"In God We Trust" on our money. This was not the National Motto until 1956.

Before that there was no "official" National Motto, although E Pluribus Unum (Out of many [is] one) was definitely used as an unofficial national motto. Personally I think it is a much better one than "In God We Trust"

No, you most certainly are not.

Very few of the Founding Framers were Christian.

When politicians/right-wing wackjobs say that, they think that because recent administrations have been Christian administrations, that it's the way it always was.

To put it in perspective, take the Republicans for example. They're the ones who generally say that. They also (up until recently) supported President Bush in the Iraq War, absolutely sure we could win. They couldn't even remember the Koren and Vietnam wars which played out in the EXACT same fashion. If they can't properly understand history that's only 40 years old, how could you expect them to understand history that's 240 years old?

The right to life, the right to liberty. I think what they meant by this, furthermore, is that by and large the founders of this nation were Christians. There is a reference to God on our currency, in many documents created at the founding of this nation, and we've never had anything but Christians or deists (debatable) heading this country. You'll also hear people refering to a "Puritan work ethic," (they were Christians) or a Christian work ethic as well.
Most settlers in our nation were also escaping religious persecution, which is why worshipping as you please so so important to them. Also, they knew full well the threats of a theocracy, or people forcing religious persecution on people. In order to prevent this from happening, and foregoing their chance to install an official state religion, they created a separation of church and state. True Christians don't try to force their viewpoints and values on others. Only fundamentalists and wackos do that. We have proof - if you want to see Christianity at its most evil and heinous come to Salt lake City about the time of the Mormon conferences and see all the "Christians" persecuting Mormons, calling women (who are with their children) whores, etc. Nice way to be "Christian," guys! Stay in the deep south and leave peaceful people alone.

We probably were founded on Christian principles--but then we adopted a Constitution that said that this was completely irrelevant to running the country. So it doesn't matter one bit whether we're a "christian nation" or not - our government is required to stay the hell out of religion and vice versa.

The principle that you cannot have two masters: that if you serve your own money, you cannot serve 'the population' (God).

That is why the three-branch system was introduced: to keep the service in the people's interest rather than the individual officials'.

Well, you might glance at the Declaration of Independence where it states positively that individuals have rights that come from a divine Creator, and that the entire purpose of government is to protect those rights.

Unless you think the same people that wrote that could have changed their minds before drafting the Constitution, you have to assume that's what they still had in mind.

We were a country founded by people seeking reglious freedom and tolerance, and taxation only with representation today we live in a country where only christians seem to be able to live freely in society without retribution, and taxes are levied on people who have no congressional vote (Washington, D.C.) we should be ashamed of ourselves.
