Maybe...
We really don't KNOW what the dinosaurs that make up the fossils today looked like... some of them could possibly be dragon fossils.
I can't absolutely rule it out, though I really don't believe it.
I can only not absolutely rule it out because I've never witnessed either a dragon or a dinosaur in person, so....
Personally, I believe dragons may have existed at one time.. the legends about them are too consistent with the different cultures around the world for it to be complete coincidence in my opinion.

All of the Oriental dragons were intimately associated with water. Dragons lived in lakes and rivers and seas, even in raindrops. They controlled the tides, floods and rainfall. If they really existed, then a source that immediately comes to mind is the Chinese alligator, Alligator sinensis. They are not as large as their American cousin, ranging from an average two metres in length to sometimes three metres. But they are dangerous, reptilian and water-based - all good reasons for linking them to the Oriental dragon. But only if you haven’t heard of the predecessors of the real-life Komodo dragon …

Australian monitor lizards all belong to the genus Varanus. They are easily identifiable by their streamlined shape, elongated neck, semi-erect posture, and a forked tongue - which can give the effect of fire-breathing. They all look very similar except for their size differences, which are extreme to say the least. The smallest is the pygmy monitor Varanus brevicauda (20 centimetres long, weighs 8-10 grams). The largest in Australia is the perentie or Varanus giganteus, which can attain a length of two metres

Larger still are the Komodo Dragons (Varanus komodoensis) of Indonesia, a country that the ancient Chinese would certainly have visited. [20] They can reach lengths of three metres and weigh 150 kgs, [21] making them the world’s largest lizards. They are formidable predators, like crocodiles that are able to run quickly across land. They were probably the reason that the stegodonts (pygmy elephants) [22] became extinct in this area. They might even have wiped out the 1-metre tall, miniature humans, Homo floresiensis, who lived there up until 12,000 years ago.

These dragons were previously more widespread, with evidence of them once occurring in Mongolia coming to light. [23] And in Queensland, Australia, only becoming extinct 19,000 years ago (take that date with a pinch of salt), was a bigger lizard still, a cousin of the Komodo dubbed Megalania prisca.

Well at first Scientists did call dinosaurs Dragons until one guy came along and changed that all and i believe that there was something like a dragon not exactly the way we think and if they could fly i think that they would have to have wings unless when ever they where alive the Gravitational pull was less then than it is now who know we might not ever know it's just something to always think about when you get bored

No. Some of the belief come from people finding fossils and thinking that they belonged to animals that were still alive because they didn't understand the concept of "extinct." I saw a great documentary on this from the History of Discovery Channel, and it discussed how the found skeletons were also assembled wrong. For example, a shoulder blade of a dino was thought to be a wing.

Dearest Irequiredtohelp,

Dragons did exist and like most species there were different types, sizes, strengths, abilities, etc. They were spread throughout the globe.

I suggest collecting Western Dragons or Chinese Dragons.

I have a very extensive collection of Dragon spirits and I know a great many collectors who keep these spirits as well.

Western Dragons are Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver, and White. Their capabilities and magical prowess differ and expand amongst each other.

The Chinese Dragons are Seekers, Guides, Teachers, Guards and Attendants.

There are many who collect and whose lives are enriched by collecting Dragons.

I would guess that SOMEthing existed that people called a dragon. There are tons of stories about them, and in China, the dragon style is a style of kung fu. All the other animals from which kung fu is taken exist. Only the dragon doesn't exist. This seems odd. I just imagine there was some animal that this was all based on.

Most scientists that do believe in dragons believe that dragons were a form of dinosaurs that died off at the same time. But because of how long ago they existed (if they existed at all) it is really hard to prove it.

It's quite possible that there were dragons at one point but they have become extinct. Some people have theorized that dragons are actually some leftover dinosaurs like pterodactyls. To the best of my knowledge, there are no fossils yet but then we don't have fossil remains for thousands of extinct animals.

There is speculation that dragons did exist. They found a strange skeleton of a long lizard in China, but it authenticity was never disclosed. Also, there was a real order of Knights called the Order of the Dragon, of which, Vladimir Dracula's father was a member.
