Well, if you read the power supply that charges it, probably the big fat plug that you plug in the wall to charge it. Written on this is some important information, It should tell you the amount of watts used, or the current ( Amps). These numbers will tell you just how much it will cost to operate. If you want a very solid case, read your electric bill, you will find on there somewhere the price per killowatt, or KW. It is usually around 8 cents per KW. Now a KW is 1000 watts. The charger for the bike probably draws no more than 200-400 watts. Which would translate into 2-4 cents per hour that it charges. Which is next to nothing. Now, if it only tells you the Current rating. you will need to convert that to watts. All you do is take the Voltage (120) X Current (amps) = Power(watts). Well best of luck, tell him to quit worrying, the bike will cost no more than it does to light 3 rooms.

Best of Luck!!!

I really doubt if it will have any affect on the bill. You aren't using that much electricity, it is low voltage. If it increases the bill $5 a month I would be surprised. Let the boy enjoy, he'ls only young once.

I'm willing to bet you wont see any hike in your bill. and even if you do it will be a small price to pay for keeping your boys interests away from TV Video games guns etc.

good luck
