No. John Elway is overrated. AND THIS IS COMING FROM A BRONCOS FAN!!! He was good and one of the best but he WAS NOT the best. He is the comeback king most definitely but he isn't the best. If it hadn't of been for the weapons like Terrell "Mr. Touchdown" Davis and Ed"Eddie Mac"McCaffrey, Elway couldn't have accomplished the things that he did.
GO BRONCOS!!

Probably he is.
Most victories
Most Super Bowls played
47 come-from-behind-victories, almost duplicates the 26 made by Montana.
The Drive, 98 yards in the AFC championship vs the Browns to tie the game in the last seconds of the 4th quarter.
He could make all the throws: while in motion or when was going to be knocked down.
Also a great scrambler, he's a top 10 in rushing yards for QBs.
Did I already mention the 47 come-from-behind victories?

If Denver had won or kept the game close in the other super bowls they were in they I'd give it to Elway, but Imma have to give it to Montana.....& I'm a bronco fan as well...I believe denver will be 13-3 or 14-2 this season... go BRONCOS! so in short .....i agree with what crashfu said.

I'm a lifelong Denver fan, and huge Elway fan.
Look at the "talent" Elway had most of his career. Sammy Winder? Gaston Green? The Three Amigos? Those guys would have been reserves in San Francisco.
He single-handedly won games, and carried mediocre teams on his back to the Super Bowls. I honestly believe that if Dan Reeves wasn't such a conservative, unimaginative coach, Denver might have won the Super Bowl against the Giants.
The fourth quarter comebacks...
The rushing yards...
Number of wins...
Two Super Bowl wins...
Super Bowl MVP...
If he's not the greatest, he's #2 at worst behind Montana. Hard to argue Montana's success and those rings.
And you Favre fans, breathe. It's rings that count. Elway has two, and he beat Favre head-to-head for one of them. Silence!

John Elway was a great QB but he was also a egotistical cry baby. He threw a temper tantrum when he was drafted and demanded to be traded. Despite the fact that he had not proven himself to anybody, he viewed himself as a super star. Later in his career, after several rough years, he learned a little humility and became a good QB. I just have a hard time respecting someone with that type of personality.

Right on man lucky you! He is right behind Joe Montana, I will say this what Elway had to work with during his time with Dan Reeves as far as Receivers IE the 3 midgets is a testament to his true leadership and football skills. As far as Bret Farve he and Steve Young can not either of Joe's or John's jock strap.
