Well, the disadvantages of a NON frost free freezer, is that frost will build up into ice, make your freezer work harder, put strain on your motor, make it eat more electricity, eventually burn the motor out, and take up food space with lots of unusable ice.
Frost free, when used right, wont do that. Just dont over stuff it too much, so it maintains some circulation of air.

Frost free is the way to go.There is never a frost build up. When the frost builds up in a regular freezer you have to unplug it and let it slowly defrost. Too much time!

The obvious.....that you never have to de-frost your freezer. Can't possibly imagine a downside to that feature.
