Although my parents were well meaning, they were really rough on us when we were growing up. I have worked very hard to not be at all like my parents! I am thankful for having had them in my life, don't get me wrong, but all I remember in my dealings with them was fear, insecurity, and embarrassment. Thank goodness, none of my own children feel that way about me and I will be forever thankful for the very close and loving relationship I have with them! Have a great week! Annie

So-So. I take after my mother alot. We both chose a career in Special Education. I have very little in common with my father. He's a chemist. I am not that smart. As far as acting like them, as a parent myself, no. I was brought up in a strict environment and where I was told who could be my friends and who could not be my friends or who I could date and who I could not date. I won't do that to my kids. I believe you as an individual have the right to decide who your friends are. I discipline mine a different way too.

Yes, I have. It doesn't bother me that I have, my Mom and Dad were great. I don't have them with my anymore they both passed away. Now that I have a child I know exactly what all the complaining and fussing was about. I feel I am a little of both of my parents.

I wish I had turned into my mother. No such luck.
I did turn into my father. Only thing is, he never got sober and I did. I'm now the age he was when he died-so I'm not off the hook yet.

Yes. I've developed my mother's strange obsession with using excessive amounts of sellotape to do packages up. She inherited it from my grandmother.
At least I'm not growing a beard like my dad.

I can't turn into my mother, because she's dead and I don't like small spaces.

However, through no effort of my own I'm developing my father's high level of patience. Pretty amazing.

I don't know what you mean by that question young man but until you have something nice to say you can go to your room and come down when you are ready to behave!
