I'm looking for alternative methods of conceiving rather than the expensive stuff...I've been tested and i'm healthy and able, and so is he, but we've had no luck, i am a big girl though..Even though half of my family are big, i'm the only one having a problem conceiving. I have very irregular periods, and not where i never get one, but one that doesnt want to go away ever!!!!! Doctors say i'm ok and they always want to put me on birth control to regulate...(Hello i want a baby) It's been almost eight years. So i'm turning to all of u for help, i've heard that prenatal pills will help, vitamin e, folic acid, and of course clomid, and ovulex. I'm going to try the prenatal pills first, and see what happens, if u have any input at all, i'm listening......

Yes, prenatal vitamins will.

Not significantly or anything, but they will give your body the nutrients and vitamins it needs to prepare for a healthy pregnancy.

Usually, when you go to a doctor about infertility, if they don't find anything medically wrong with you, that's what they suggest. Take prenatal vitamins and eat and drink as if you were already pregnant.

And, make sure your hubby is taking a multi-vitamin as well.

Best wishes to ya!

I have never heard of a prenatal helping you conceive. It helps your baby develop correctly. So if you are trying to get pregnant you should be taking them already. The longer your on them before you are pregnant the less chance there is of your baby having birth defects. Now that I said that I want to say that I had problems getting pregnant also. What I was told is my pH balance might be off. So my mom told me an old wives tell to try. Its a cap of apple cider vinegar, a table spoon of honey, in a glass that you fill up with water. Drink it once a day. I did it for a month and I got pregnant. I'm not say it true or that it will work but if you really want a baby you should try it.

Prenatal vitamins are a great idea. They won't help you conceive, but they will prepare your body to have a healthier pregnancy. You can get them over the counter at any pharmacy or even Walmart. I've heard that drinking herbal rasberry tea helps with fertility and menstral problems. Try that, it's cheap and tasty too! =) I wish you the best of luck TTC and will send you some baby dust ***

I was told that taking prenatals can help because every level in your body...hormones,proteins,vitamins etc. have to be at an ideal level in order to conceive. However, if there is an exsisting health issue, it won't make a difference. If you are in good health, you may want to ask your doc about a thyroid test. Your thyroid level needs to perfect to conceive and it is common for it to be off, even slighlty. Good Luck.

It doesn't help you conceive, it just prepares your body to be healthy enough for conception. There are lots of reasons why it's hard to conceive. Try the doctor again or take their advice and go on the pill to regulate. It helps get everything flowing and then hopefully you will be pregnant.

It took us 7 years to conceive, and the only thing different we did, was educate our self on HOW TO CONCEIVE, took every precuation we could before hand and started charting.

PS dunno if this matters but I have a really bad tilted uterus, towards my spine. Other than that, we are both okay/normal, childbearing age years.

After 7 years of no luck, and one month of doing the above, we got pregnant with TWINS!!! I'll be 10 weeks this up coming Monday!

We used this website to chart:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com

Bought a Basal Body Thermometer at Walmart for under 10 bucks, also prenatal pills.

Changed up a bunch of things in our daily lifestyle, and after that and charting, and using OPK test, it took one month.

Heres a website for OPK and PG test for under a a DOLLAR a piece!!!
http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/pacof3ovtess.html

I used on average 5-10 OP test strips PER CYCLE, b/c like you I am irregular. My cycles average 28-37 days.

You really need to go to a doctor. In 4 years of not using contraception, something should have happened by now... How old are you? If you are under 35, there is a 9 out of 10 chance of conception after one year, if all your innards are working as they should. If you are over 35 it could be more difficult and you definitely need to see a specialist before it's too late to do anything.

listen to your dr. a 3 month cours of birht control to regualte your period, or another 2,3 4 + yeas of trying. Its a simple fix, and chepaer than clomid. Prenatals will not increase your fertility, but taking them is a great idea, so your body is ready to have a baby.

Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism. Learn here https://tr.im/lrRtb

Many people with hypothyroidism experience crippling fatigue and brain fog, which prompts reaching for non-nutritional forms of energy like sugar and caffeine. I’ve dubbed these rascals the terrible twosome, as they can burn out your thyroid (and destabilize blood sugar).

1. Just say no to the dietary bungee cord. Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. Make grain-based carbohydrates lesser of a focus, eating non-starchy vegetables to your heart’s content.

2. Up the protein. Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; quinoa; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products (organic, grass-fed meats, eggs, and sustainably-farmed fish); and legumes.

I heard Geritol or SSS Tonic can help you can get them at Wallgreens. I myself have not used them but just try it. With my first child I used the pill to regulate my period and in 2 - 3 months i got pregnant. Good luck to you
