Do amateur books sell well on ebay?

My mom just wrote a book and it's now published and ready to sell. How well do beginner author's books sell on ebay? Any suggestings on marketing and advertising the book? It's a spiritual book.

eBay is as good a spot as any for selling books. The great thing about eBay is the price is always set by the market so you will get a fair price. You can always do a Buy It Now option to set your own price to see if it sells. Another option is going to a place like Half Price Books and selling them the books new and maybe getting some free shelf space to have them displayed.

Getting a good review from a well known critic is one of the best advertisements you can get. Try sending copies to all of the big newspaper and magazines in the area to see if someone will pick it up.

Book readings are always fun too. You could probably get a good crowd at your local church or bookstore.

The main thing you have to do is get the book in as many places as you can and let people know it's there. If people know it's a good book that helps too.

I really have no clue, but I'd imagine not terribly well. Folks are gonna be looking more for authors and titles they know, or which have been around a long time and are said to be good. However, there will be folks out there that will be willing to read something no matter how unkown the author. And they could really help you're mom become better know by posting positive comments on her work somewhere.
