Does anyone know if it's possible or have ever tried to paint brushed nickel to say a bronzed/aged iron like texture? I'm looking to save money so instead of buying all new light fixtures was hoping that it'd be possible to paint them.
Thanks for any advise. Can't seem to find anything w/an online search.

First clean, then spray with a primer and then with the color you want

If the light fixtures are fairly new, it is unlikely that the finish is actually brushed nickle. It is more likely a brushed nickle finish on top of steel or aluminum. If that is the case, you will want to make sure the surface can be roughed up a bit so that paint will stick. I suggest Scotch-Brite pads to go over the surface and a high quality primer to go under your finish.

Yup! Rustoleum makes a "hammered finish" spray paint, in various colors, that works great! Just follow the instructions on the container. Available at most home improvement stores.
