You should see a difference with the infocal in 10 or 15 mins as i recall. Laying a baby on your Knee and gently rubbing his tummy also helps. Try to make him take breaks between ounces - its all the gulping that gives wind. As soon as baby gets to solids he won't need winding- he will burp and fart plenty for you of his own accord.
My boys started sleeping through the night almost immediately because i never fed them through the night- i gave them a small drop of water or a soother/pacifer and that seemed to work. My daughter didn't sleep through the night until she was six years old- but she was asthmatic and we didn't realise she couldn't breathe when she was layed down. But they should be in a routine by three or four months and certainly should not be being fed during the night.

Infacol takes a while to work - a good week or so, so persevere. If you read the leaflet that comes with it it will tell you what results to expect. It isn't a miralce thing! If you think it is defiantly colic (which isn't actually that common, just an overused term to describe cry-y babies) then speak to your midwife or HV for some advice.
As for the sleeping - it varies from baby to baby. My son slept through the night at 8 weeks and even before that would go from about 10pm to 4am then to 8am which was great! Keep any night feeds quiet and dark, feed your baby up before bedtime - they need full bellies to stay asleep!
You stop winding once they have been on solids for a while and are sitting up aided - about 6 months.
Try reading 'The Baby Whisperer' by Tracey Hogg - it has a lot of sound, common sense advice in it.
Don't sweat and enjoy your baby.

infocal should start working with the first feed, you should notice more wind being brought up.
As for sleeping more at night, that all depends on the baby, you here differant stories from every mother, no 2 babies are the same. But you should start noticing a longer night sleep at about 3 months, earlier if your lucky.
Winding - I would say when the baby can sit up itself or starting on solids. This can be between 3 - 6 months. Again, they are all differant. Some stay on milk longer than others, some go on solids early, some later. There is no correct answers to your questions.

Every baby is different!!!!
If the baby has colic, what you give should work pretty soon. If you have any doubt, see a Doctor or Midwife.
Baby should start sleeping longer at night probably about 3 months, but they are all different.
You will wind the baby if they need it but about 8 months.

Hi. I'm a mom with grown kids from TX in the USA. I can let you in on my experience.
Neither of my babies had colic. My sisters' did, though. I think it turned out to be an allergy to milk, even breast milk. They could not see any difference in the screaming whether they walked them or put them down, it didn't matter. The child was going to scream. Until they figured out that the child was comforted by the dryer. If you put his infant seat on the dryer and turned it on, he would quiet down and maybe sleep. Also, the vacuum cleaner in the room at nap time helped a lot.
My babies were extremely different. My daughter slept through the night at 6 weeks. My son was still waking up crying until 2 years old.
I stopped burping my babies when they did it automatically by themselves.
Enjoy your baby. Don't let his colic drive you mad. This is still a very precious time. Take lots of pictures and play with him every moment he's awake but not crying.

I used infacol and it didnt work, my son had colic 24hrs his tummy was swollen and he was in a lot of pain. I then discovered SMA lactose free and it stopped his colic. u can buy it from boots but if u go to ur GP u can get it on pescription so u dont have to pay for it. babys sleep differently not 1 is the same. my nephew slept through from 5 month, my son was 8 months. I was surviving on 3hrs sleep a night as my son wouldnt settle. I advise u to do controlled crying, its well worth it, just percever with the crying it WILL b worth it as baby has to learn to fall asleep and go back to sleep on thier own accord. my son now sleeps from 6pmish till 7am next morning!! he gets wingey if he isnt in bed by 6.30pm!! not sure bout the winding part hun. hope this helps u

Infacol worked for me in about 10 -15 minutes. Baby slept right the way though the night from about 3-4 months, was in his own bedroom at six months. ( I did find if I did his feed and put him to bed later I didn't get the horrific middle of the night wake up. )Stopped winding as soon as he learned to burp on his own sorry cant remember how old he was.
All babies are different but hope this helps.

my little girl had colic and I took her to the chiropractor and she was all better after the first visit. Call one in your area and see what they say. I was skeptical but it worked. I asked my ped. and he said they could not do anything, I just went with my gut and she was cured after the first visit and I was so happy.
