Nope, he's still second to LT. However, he may grow into the job considering the great second half he had.

It's hard to give someone the title of best RB in the league when they split time at the position with another player. You have guys like LT, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee, Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, Stephen Jackson, Edgerrin James (although he had an off-year last season), Clinton Portis, and the list goes on. All those guys are the #1 option on the team.....Bush is just a change of pace in the offensive scheme. Come to think of it, he didn't shoulder the load at USC either (Lendell White was the other half of the tandem backfield). I agree that he's a great talent....he's just not an every down back, yet. Maybe somewhere down the road in his career....he's only a 1 yr. vet now.

No, as much as I like him, he is not the best. Not even a close second really. LT is the best right now.

If you asked if he is the most exciting, I might lean towards yes, because of the moves he can make.

Give him a couple of years, and he will be more worthy of this type of comparison. Over time I think he will be mentioned in with the likes of a Barry Sanders, but not right now.

And I am a USC guy

No, not yet anyways.....Deuce is the best rb on the saints as of now.......Bush will eventually grow into the role....They really didn't use him as a traditional back last year .......The best right now are LT, Shaun Alexander, LJ, Frank Gore...........But Reggie Bush is pretty phenomenal......His acceleration speed is simply amazing.....He will have a big big career in the NFL...........Hes one that is going to be fun and exciting to watch as his career continues......

No way... Like JW said not even the best on his own team. Everyone is critical for Houston not taking him but he would not have worked on that team. He barely fits with the Saints. He is a great athlete but nowhere near the best RB in the league... May never be but he does seem to be a decent human being...

not even close! I always laugh when people mention him among the best.... he wasn't even the best rookie running back last season. He averaged 3.6 yards per carry last year.... the best backs in the league have been averaging around 5! He also only had 565 yards rushing. Tomlinson had over 3 times that! He had a good year as a receiver.... but having 1300 combined yards is not going to make you the best or even close to it. The best backs in the league get over 1300 yards rushing and then add on another couple hundred receiving. He'll be one of the best backs evenutally, but I don't think he'll ever be what people envisioned him as.

Nope, 'fraid not.

On the current scene, there is L.T. in San Diego and Shawn Alexander in Seattle who are the best...depending on which year it is.

On the historical level, Bush cannot even compare to Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders or even Eric Dickerson...at least not yet.

In time, perhaps...but Bush is a different type of back. Don't think we will be looking at him as simply a running back when his career is over.

on talent and potential you could say yes. but he's not there yet and won't be until he's becomes the guy in NO. LT is the man now, along with LJ, steven jackson, shaun alexander among others. but i can see bush as a guy who will get about 2000 all purpose yards and double figure td's for years to come.

Its too early to say best...he has the potential...one of the most exciting to watch, yes! When he has lead role, I think he will be the NOW RB in the NFL though...providing the NO Saints keep blocking effectively.....Best hands down..LT

He isn't even the starting RB on his team. So after much careful though, I would have to say no, he is not the best.

No. But he has the potential to be the best in the future. However, he's already one of the most dangerous players on the field. And he's already one of the best open field runners in the league.
