topiary with ribbons?

does anybody know how to make ribbon topiary?

I don't know of any instructions, but that one seems to be assembled from stuff you can buy at craft stores. I would paint a thin dowel, a styrofoam ball, a clay pot or some kind of cup or vase with sand. They used fake river rocks on top of that. You can just loop the ribbons on and attach them with small straight pins.
