At Standford you get your BA in physics with an emphasis in Astrophysics. You can also do an emphasis in Astronomy in the electrical engineering dept.

Physics is fine. Astronomy is 99% physics anyway. I even saw a teaching position advertised for astronomy classes at a communitty college, and the only requirement was a master's in PHYSICS!

I think if you can make it through an undergraduate degree in physics at Stanford, your graduate school career will be pretty easy.
