Sounds like a medical question. Go see your doctor. That is not normal.

If the white dots you see are anything like the stars you would see if you were to hit your head, this could actually be a serious medical condition. My first thought is low blood sugar brought on through diabetis. Another thought is that you hit your head.

Now if you were traveling in Earth orbit, and when you closed your eyes you saw an occasional flash, then I would say that it was a cosmic ray interacting with an atom inside your eyeball.

I hope this helps, and you may want to get a blood test :) Good luck, I wish you health!

Are you talking about floaters?
There are impurities in the vitreous humour that cast a shadow on the retina. They appear grey and a little ghostly.
They sometimes look like those models of molecules that one sometimes sees, but they are actually much bigger than a molecule (though they are still quite small).

You are experiencing "DT's", a phenomenon consistence with excessive alcoholism and drug addiction.

Reduce the dosage of your meds by half.

Turn yourself in to a mental rehab institution. Ask them to examine your cranial cavity and see if there is anything there.

I'm betting they find nothing.
