Will it work okay?

And they're not of the same company either.

Thanks.

As long as the 1 gig is of an appropriate speed for your computer you definitely can. Look at what it says on the 512MB memories to see if it needs 3200 or some other higher/lower speed and get the same in the 1 GB size.

Those memories periodically go on sale deep discounted. If the price looks right you could replace not just one but two of them with 1GB each for a big performance boost.

What I think you're asking is if you can add the 1 gig stick on with the 512s if that is that case then it will work as long as they are all compatable with your motherboard. Your BIOS will; automatically adjudt to use them all at the speed of the slowest stick.

Best way to tell is to go to a memory vendor's web site; www.crucial.com has a nice one. For any given machine, they will tell you exactly what you can put in it -- and sell it to you.
