i have just come back from australia and i fished in a river full of bull sharks. They are the most agressive shark in the world and i was told i had a pretty good chance of being attacted if swam in the river.
Maybe to your question the fish is new and has a better flavour?

good point, and it is a very answer. REady?
it follows natures law of energy.
Why would you waste more energy catching fast moving little fish, when you can save energy and eat a fish that isnt moving?
Also you must consider, how much energy can you get back? little fish, = little energy back, bigger fish = more energy.
Again, why waste alot of energy catching the fishes that wont give you alot of energy, where you can again get food that wont cost you energy.
also consider, you can't survive if u end up losing more energy than you gain. So the bull shark would again rather get the food that the humans are giving them.

Like most predators, sharks are opportunistic. If they can expend less energy for a meal, they will take that opportunity. Aren't we humans the same? Wouldn't you rather someone cook you a meal instead of cooking your own?

It is easier to get food when you are being fed. Why would you go hunting if you can get it for no effort? Think about it like this, you are hungry, you can either go into the woods and try to shoot a deer for your meal, or you can go to a restaurant and they will cook and serve it for you. Which one would you choose?

It's a fact, Sharks can't be "bovvered", especially when they're being fed.
