I've seen numerous people say the Indians will not make the playoffs because they will choke(2005 lack of experience) and their pitching staff(Lee and Westbrook pitching horrible) will fall apart. Do you think this will happen? If you think it will why? If you think they will make the playoffs how far will they go?

The Indians are an explosive team. I am a long time Tigers fan, and I live in Detroit, so of course I'm gonna pull for them. But with that being said the Indians are red hot this year. They have dominant starting pitching with Sabathia and Carmona. Their offense is no joke either. If Travis Hafner starts pickin it up here later in the season look out for the Indians. Cleveland is the only team in the AL that makes me nervous. It is gonna be a tight race in the Central, and of course I am going to be pullin for the Tigers, but the Indians are gonna be right there with them til the end. The Indians are for real, and look for them in the playoffs to be a dominant force. Go Tigers!!

The Indians should make the playoffs this season. They won't win the division but they should be good enough to win the wild card, assuming the Yankees don't pull of a huge run. The Indians pitching woes could be helped by some crafty moves before the trade deadline. There are some good relievers available. Guys like Octavio Dotel and Brad Lidge. I don't expect them to go far in the playoffs because teams like Detroit and Boston have deeper starting rotations and even if Sabathia wins his start they would have to win three more games and the match ups are not favorable.

They are probably the most underrated team of the contenders in the AL. They will make the playoffs and as a WC. I think Detroit is just too solid of a team to not take the division.

The Tribe will not go too far in my opinion though, maybe at best the ALCS. As of now they would have to play Boston. I think they can beat Boston. But then they would face Detroit or Anaheim and I don't think they would beat either one of those teams. There is a chance they could upset the Angels but I highly doubt that would happen.

I don't think they will make the playoffs. That's a tough division. Detroit may be the best team in baseball, so I think winning the division is a longshot. As far as the wild card goes, I know this isn't the popular choice, but I don't think the Yankees are dead...and I'm NOT a Yankee fan. That lineup over there is just BRUTAL. They don't need outstanding pitching to win...so I think the Yanks will take the wild card...unfortunately. Don't expect them to go anywhere in the playoffs though.

They'll be right there with a bunch of teams. Yankees, Red Sox, Indians, Tigers, Twins, and Angels will be in the hunt. Seattle will pull a 2005 Indians, choke at the end cause of no experience.

I don't have any clear cut playoff picture right now, cause the races r 2 close right now.

I think that they will make the playoffs as the wildcard team. They are a good team, but now as good as Detroit. I do have concern for their pitching. Only Sabathia and Carmona are really pitching well, and their relievers have been terrible aside from Perez and Betancourt. I think they will make the playoffs based on their hitting, with Sizemore, Hafner, Martinez, etc...

I happily answer this question again. The Indians will win the World Series this year. For the 3rd time in 4 years, then, a major streak will be ended, leaving the Cubs and the expansion teams, which, because they are expansion teams, don't count because their streak of failures to win the series again can't start till they win their first one.

Red4tribe, you have a lot to be happy about this year and you should have a smile on your face from ear-to-ear. The Indians have a very good team and should be considered a front runner to make the playoffs. I believe they could enhance their chances if they were able to go out and find one good starting pitcher soon. If they don't make it to the playoffs it will be because they come up a pitcher short, especially if one of their current starters has any health issues.

Yes, most likely as the wild card.

Make no mistake, Cleveland and Detroit will be battling it out all year long. I still think Detroit will win the division by a game or 2.

Probebly as a wild card. The Tigers will overpass them (if they havnt allready) but they should have a shot at the wild card if they can hold of the Yanks. A good trade at the deadline could propel them into a division tittle, but thats highly unlikely
