Apparently I'm supposed to grease my swingarm bolt and use the grease fitting if it has one. So do I need some kind of grease gun to get it into the fitting, is there more than one kind of gun? If there is a grease fitting, do I still have to take to bolt off and grease it?

Most bikes the fitting is already on the swing arm and has a rubber nipple over it to protect it or is covered by a removable cap on each end of the swing arm shaft.

A grease fitting looks just like a bleeder valve used on hydraulic brakes.
A grease gun forces grease through the grease fitting so parts don't have to be disassembled to lubricate.

A grease fitting, also known as a zirk is a bulb thing with a bearing seal in the center. you can get a grease gun at any car parts store. You just hook the hose to the zirk and pump the gun. No need to remove the zirk. one gun fits all. there is only one size zirk. you can get a cheap gun if its only for one or 2 greasings, they are around 10 bux. a good gun and grease cartridges will be more around 30 bux

you might need to use a rag,, to clean the grease and dirt off the fitting, grease guns come in two sizes,, best to ask a guy at work if they have a gun, because you dont need it alot, the gun has a fitting that " snaps" on the zerk fitting,( what the little fitting is called )
best is to get your oil changed at a place that will lub your chassis included with change,

the grease fitting threads into the bolt or whatever needs to be greased to get grease in the components they are super small and come in a variety of sizes.

The name is zirt and there are different sizes and grease guns come in all sizes and some are even driven by air.
