That is pretty high if you have decent credit. Countrywide has much better rates this week, I am presently working out a mortgage with them.

I have to agree with Dob, there are a lot of different factors and people shouldn't be answering questions if it's not in their profession or if they don't know how things really work. The other thing is did you do this loan full documentation or stated? That makes a big difference also.

6.75% is not par today. A "Par rate" means you would have to pay at least 1% origination.

The Par rate today is 6.375%. The market rate is 6.625 and the no-closing costs rate is 6.875%.

Sounds a little high, however the rate you are given is based on your creditworthiness/score.

It is about .25% high. 6.75% is par today ona 30 day lock

It's a bit on the hight side. 6.25% or so is common right now if you have strong credit.
