I can't accept any of those above people who decided to put "making a difference" in their "too hard to achieve basket."

Each one of us can and should - and yes, I don't think it's an option, it's an obligation - try to make a difference in people's life. It doesn't have to be as ambitious as achieving world peace, but even world peace is achieved by you and me doing our tiny baby steps.

let me dedicate this to you and tell me what you think:

"A man was walking down the beach and noticed that there were thousands of starfish all across the sand that had crawled out of the ocean due to the red tide. Although the water had cleared, the sun was taking its toll and the starfish were drying up and dying.

As the man continued to walk down the beach, he noticed that another man walking in front of him was bending over every now and then to pick something up, and each time that he did he got a little closer. Finally, the man caught up with the other fellow and asked what he was doing. The man said that the starfish were dying in the sun and that he was putting them back in the water.

“But there are millions of them. What kind of difference do you think you can make?” To that, the man bent over and picked up another starfish, tossed it into the water and said, “Well, I guess I made a difference to that one.”

Yes I do ! I am not so big headed to think that my opinions or actions will change the course of history but we were not created by God to sit on our hands & watch the grass grow !

All of us have God given abilities & talents because God has a purpose for each of us & to ignore this or just be content with going with the flow is not acceptable .

I would strongly urge all of us to strive to make a difference , to not be content with being a spectator but get into the game & chase that ball hard !

I want to say something here but I REALLY don't want to sound rude because I'm REALLY NOT aiming at insulting anyone.

I think that only stupid people think that they can make a difference which will change the world or that they're too valuable to just leave this world so soon.

I'm not talking about the ambitious person here who strives for better conditions and situations. I'm referring to those who want to "make the world a better place".

I go with the flow although I have leadership qualities. I do not revolt against the system. I am creative enough to create solutions from within the system because such solutions are usually the least costly.

i want to change the direction of the flow people go with!

When i read the other answers, i had to edit & add:
Fares didn't ask you to make the world a perfect place, he asked you if you want to make a difference!! which isn't the easiest thing but it's possible!!

The 1st step of making a difference is by believing you can!

Like Aussie, Webby, kalooka, & Ghannouge said, it's our duty to make a positive change ,even on a small scale it matters!

why do u think we can't!? "mish na2osna shi!"

it doesn't have to be in a political manner, it can be in a scientific one,
Newton,Bell,the write brothers,Einstein,Gauss,Edison,..& on
all these people made a change!
& we can, & i will!!!!!!!!!!!

& this(saying u can't make a change) is not being realistic its being Pescimistic!

I try to change the world around me, what I have control over, and I have made changes with myself to start. I hope that my good intentions serve as an influence to others. And if that makes Fuzzy Face or Banana Breath think I'm stupid, well they can kiss my fluffy white Egypitan cotton tail and my cute little nose and floppy ears.

We can make a difference, if we are SURE that we can, and we wont listen to other people say we cannot!!!

If we couldnt make a difference we wouldnt have "king, Teresa, Oprah, ...."
