It should be red when you remove it. If it's not bloody when you remove it, then you probably shouldn't be wearing one. They are for the menstrual cycle only.

You shouldn't feel the tampon at all. I never have...only when I placed it wrong. So you are feeling the discomfort, because you need to place it inside correctly. It may be at an odd angle slightly. Just remove it and start anew.

The only time I've been able to feel them is when I haven't pushed it in far enough. It's not gonna kill you if you can feel it but it's uncomfortable. I've been using them for years and I still put them in wrong from time to time. I only use tampons on really heavy days so they are red when I take them out. If it's pinkish, your 'flow' probably isn't that heavy that day and that may be why you couldn't slide it in all the way. Sometimes it's easier to get the tampon in all the way when you are having a heavy flow day.

I know you said you pushed it in up to the grooved rings but sometimes you need to push it a bit further. I usually have to do that.

It sounds like you are on your light days, wear a mini pad. You can feel it because you do not have enough lubrication for it to easily glide inside. Only use the size tampon that your flow demands, if its light pink your flow isnt heavy enough, go for the mini pad.

If you insert it properly, you won't feel it. As for the color, red when your period is heavy, pink when it's light and when it's still white, your period is pretty much over. You'll get used to it as you get to know your cycle better.
