I have broadband, my computer is defragged and virus and spyware free and the problem seems to be when Internet Explorer is downloading from sites. It connects to a site ok, and then takes absolutely ages downloading back from it. Its as slow as using dial up! This problem suddenly started about a week ago. Before that I had excellent speed. Any ideas?

I have down system restore to before the problem started, I have cleared out cookies, temp files, history etc.
I have tried to download Firefox and it just tells me the file is corrupt!!!
I have checked task manager and there is nothing else operating at the same time. I have even uninstalled unused games etc to free up space. I have also turned off the phishing thingy to stop it slowing down connection.
NO DIFFERENCE!! ARGHGHG!!!!!

1. There could be a lot of programs running at the same time, 2.check task manager,3. try upgrading to IE 7.xxx 4.try to roll back to the date you had the problem (system tools, system restore) If this does not fix your problem,5. try reinstalling your operationg system, but this might take a bit of your time and a few disks. Good luck. Warning, if you try 5. don't forget to back up e.g. save all your inportant info.

The problem is that internet exspolore will never regain bandwidth when downloading after its been taken by another program/process even if it becomes avaible again.
Get firefox as it does not have this problem and it has been proven to be faster then IE not to meation safer.

just restart your router or adsl modem if u haven't done it before as they become slower with time. if u already tried this just reinstall your network card driver by uninstalling it and installing it again. good luck
